A good friend of mine from work, Joey Smith, will soon begin contributing to an Atlanta Braves news website called BravesBlast.com. I'm excited for Joey because not only is he a huge baseball fan, but he is also a great writer. I've bugged him a few times to start blogging because he has such a great way with words. Joey keeps me informed of baseball news, always knows the answers to my Braves questions, and keeps me regularly entertained with his hilarious recounting of fatherhood mischief.
In other baseball news, I came across this article today about Leslie's cousin, Richard Runldes, who plays minor league ball. Richard, known in baseball circles as Rich, is a great pitcher who we think has a bright future. The articles seems to indicate the same thing. Richard's dad, Uncle Gary to us, is the head baseball coach at the University of West Alabama. Baseball is in the family genes!
Leslie is pooped after a long week of teaching and caring for the family. She is preparing for a get-together tomorrow night to celebrate my birthday. We're planning on having some friends over for taco salad. Sunday, we'll get together with her family to continue the festivities. The kids keep talking about cake, and can't understand why I don't like it. Maybe we'll have a pie or something that will suffice their desires.
Happy Birthday, Seth:-) This new year WILL be better, Lord willing! Jen Jen
