Leslie was rejected once again for chemo today due to her low platelet counts. They were 80,000 this time and the doctor wants them at 100,000. Last time they were too low she was at 86,000. So each time she's a little bit lower. This is due mainly to the cumulative effect of the chemo on her body. The complication of these low counts is that she is more exhausted than normal, but her spirits are good. They will try again next week. If it is a go, then the doctor wants to wait three weeks until the next treatment, instead of the normal two. This may prolong the overall treatment beyond March or the doctor may opt to conclude her chemo treatments. He has indicated that they have just about maxed out what her body can take, so that may lead them to decide to end things early.
Tonight we had Mike, Becky and Poppie with us for dinner. It was "Terrific Turkey Taco Tuesday" for which Leslie and Becky created a wonderful meal. The kids really ate them up.
